Meet the Squad
The Founding Team
Dr. Annice Fisher
Annice is a living example of what personal and professional development can do for a woman of color. Her unique journey from dodging bullets during drive-by shootings in Chicago to graduating with a doctorate from Harvard forced her to learn how to outmaneuver race, gender, and class barriers in order to reach her potential. She had to tackle imposter syndrome head on, learn how to strategically navigate office politics as a woman of color, confidently speak her truth, and unapologetically own her identity. Through the help of mentors, coaches, work experiences, educational training, and pure trial and error, she developed a toolkit for exercising nuanced leadership that helped her and other women that she has coached succeed at breaking barriers and legacy building. Her story is what led to the founding of The BEE FREE Woman.
Prior to launching the company, Annice spent over 15 years leading individuals, teams, and organizations through the change process. From UNC Chapel Hill, The White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for African Americans, the Harvard Doctor of Education Leadership Program, the Adaptive Leadership Network, the City of Durham Human Relations Commission, and several local chapters of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Annice led the launch of strategic new initiatives. A growing call to focus more on maximizing human potential, led Annice to found Developing Capacity Consulting. Her work garnered several awards, most recently Outstanding Young Alumni under 40. Annice also serves as speaker and panelist on topics related to race & gender, leadership, entrepreneurship, mindset, and social justice.
